End of the line for N54?
It seems like the N54 motor is being discontinued, as the 335is is done with. The new 328 uses the N20 4-banger, and the upcoming 335 is going to use the N55.
Do I have that right? Cheers! |

Too expensive to produce, an idea that was ahead of its time. By 2008 it was behind its time--who's going to make cars today with 4 catalytic converters and two turbos on a 6 cyl? By 2011 they were able to remove 3 of them saving much deniro as in Robert.

I feel like once tuners can figure out a better fueling situation and doing single turbo N54's the engine will start to pick up popularity again. Sure BMW will be done making it new, but Nissan quit making the RB26 a long time ago and it's still one of the most popular jdm engines out there.
