2007 328i won't rev past 2000 rpm
Hello,
I've searched through the forum and couldn't find a clear answer to this problem, so I'm posting hoping that someone has some experience and can help me out. I have a 2007 328i that currently won't rev past 2000 rpm. I read that this problem could be related to the Throttle Position Sensor, or even the advanced security system (which immobilizes the car in the event of a theft, with the crook still in the car). The car starts and idles fine. When I step on the gas pedal, the car will rev to 2000 rpm and stay there. The engine is running smooth, with no apparent signs of mechanical problems which has me convinced this is purely electrical. This car did have some water damage, but other than this RPM issue, the car seems to be running fine. Any ideas where I can locate the sensors in question? Thanks in advance. Cheers, |

First thing to do is to get it on an AutoLogic or computer and see what fault codes come up. Doing anything else is just guesswork and will end up costing you money.
