Sunglasses holder ilo grab handles, group buy? OPEL!

I hijacked this from another thread, but I thought we should start over and see what kind of interest there is, or just point out this option. Screw that other guy who doubled the price from the last group buy on the oem part. Here is the thread I hijacked (but updated the links to working ones):

Found a thread on the 1 series forum about this as well. The 1 series uses the same BMW sunglass holder parts as the 3 series. One guy on that forum posted with pictures a sunglass holder that he installed that was from an Opel/ Vauxhaul Astra. I found the part being sold on Ebay (tan and grey) for less than $25 shipped! Here is the ebay link, the sellers page and the post form the guy on the 1 series forum. The other good thing about this holder is that it looks deeper than the BMW holder.

Looks like either gray or beige for this, no black.

Interested...but Id rather pursue a new GB with the genuine BMW holders. Drilling another small hole because it doesnt line up perfectly is not a big deal but Id rather go OEM where it lines up perfectly.

I emailed the original seller and he came down in price to $100 shipped for 2, that's $25 off his Ebay price. He might be interested in another GB? Maybe a little smaller this time around?

Why do you think that? I don't use the handle so why not covert it to a sunglasses holder?

So you took the idea another member and I are working out a plan on for OEM BMW parts not some GM crap lol

Amazing

btw: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=451532

Here is the ORIGINAL thread (revival of the idea)

I have a friend in the UK and another member has made contact w/ another vendor he knows and we are going to compare prices

Please join in and we will attempt to get the best price for the community and make it OEM BMW not this GM/Opel crap

The price of the part has gone up from BMW (nothing we can do but get a GB to get the prices down) my guy already said he could for other parts

If one of you can work out a good deal on the oem part I'm in. The jerkoff from the original gb doubled the price, not just raised it.

Well the explanation another member (working w/ me in the link) BMW raised the price

If that is not the case ( I will find out from my contact in the UK directly from BMW when he calls them)

I am not out to make money on this deal, and will get the best deal I can (obviously covering fees for shipping to people and the taxes to get the parts to the US)

put mine in a few days ago... perfect fit! heck, after pushing out the metal bushings, the screws went pretty much straight in. Took about 2.5minutes to install. since the bmw grab handles have an oval bushing anyways, these probably fit better!!!

under $24CAD shipped. arrived at my door within a week. best value for a mod yet! except for maybe the rear fogs mod!!! lol

thanks for the tip. group buy might have saved me a few bucks, but i got mine already installed

1. You can't quote

2. Not sure what your "point" or goal was to bump this thread.. when the topic was ongoing into the link I posted ...hmm

Also since djjasper is special and brought this back up, there is a real "buy" thread going on for the Vauxhall/Opel part here:

Yeah, they have them listed

imo it is overpriced (esp for the function of the item) I was skeptical of the opel/vauxhall part until I had one sent to me and it was cheaper
