Wait time for a Z4M order....getting excited!
After much deliberation, I've decided to purchase (maybe lease) a Z4M. I know I'm not going to find the color and option combo I want anywhere near where I live, so I'd like to order the car.
Those who have done so, how long was the waiting period? Since we are almost mid-way into 2007, should I wait for the 2008 (if there even is a 2008 model?) My current auto lease is expiring relatively soon, so I'm trying to time things just right. Thanks for the assistance. |

There is a pretty large inventory out there at HUGE discounts.
It would be well worth a little time investment to check around before ordering.

I know, I'd love to find a car at a dealer but my Autotrader search is only coming up with black, gray/silver, and blue cars. I want white!
Actually, what I'd like to find is a dealer with more than one car in stock, preferably white and red. That way I could compare the two and make a purchase. Anyone know of a dealer with a white Z4M in stock? |

Your local dealer should be able to work a trade (I got my car that way). We found one already in production that matched my specs that was destined for another dealer. We tried to redirect shipment from the factory, but we were too late for that. So I paid a couple hundred buck to have it shipped from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts (they would have driven it up for free).

Exactly the kind of advice I was looking for. I'm going to have to drive 80 miles or so to a dealer that has one. Hopefully I can drive the one they have and negotiate for a different one. Thanks again.

ChiefRes go to autotrader.com and after entering the inital search page click on "view more serach criteria". It will allow you to choose the color of the car you're looking for.
I did a national search on white Z4M Roadsters and got 20 hits of new and used cars. Good luck...

The actual wait time for a special order is not that long. Each dealer has the "right" to order so many Z4s per month. We ordered our Z4 on April 27th. Watching the BMW site, it was assigned a VIN about May 20 meaning it was being produced that date.
Do check out the factory delivery option. Do check out BMW financing. Latest issue of Autoweek says BMW is offering 3.9% financing on Z4Ms. |
