No Foam? Gilmour Foamaster II Foam Gun

Hey all,

Recently bought the Gilmour Foamaster II Foam Gun. I am not sure why but I am getting absolutely zero suds or foam. I have a regular garden hose so I am not using a pressure washer. I looked up this youtube link and this guy doesn't seem to be having any problems.

Any ideas what might be wrong? Looks like nothing is being pick up soap container. Using Chemical Guys Citrus Washer Concentrate. Poured about a cap ful and and didn't even fill it half way. Maybe a 1/4 of the way just to be sure I got suds.

Thanks,

Just tried it using nothing but car wash detergent and zippo. I think I got a bad foam gun.

i just washed the vid and it looked like he was using some kind of pressure system. that hose he has attached to it is meant for pressure. either way you should be getting something similar to what he has there....try to contact the company that sold it to you and explain it.

Eric,

fill up about 8 oz of shampoo
fill rest of container with water
shake it up
attach to hose
use the 1oz or 2oz setting

- at the end, you should still have enough left over for another car or two. if you are using it all, then you are using way too much per car and wasting water. you just need it to coat the car, not rinse it.

if that does work/isnt how you did it, then I think you might have a bad foam gun and should seek a replacement

Man, this whole time I thought you needed a pressure washer.

One capfull of CWG is about the amount you need in a 2 gallon bucket, your foam gun is shooting out water faster than that. You likely need more soap in the mixture for your bottle.

If you have hard water that will be a HUGE factor in the amount of suds too.

Keep in mind that if you use too high a concentration of CWG, or most high suds soaps, you can an will likely reduce the durability of your wax/sealant.

So is your gun picking up any soap? Is the dial set to provide the pick up needed, many have a lever you can turn off the pick up of soap.....????

Cheers,
GREG

Hey all,

Yep, tried everything I could think of.

1. Switch to E setting and every other setting to see if any suds would come. Just clean water

2. Tried various ratio of water to chemical detergent to see if that would work.

3. Tried nothing but detergent still just got clean water.

4. Uncoupled the main reservoir just to make sure nothing is wrong with main handle and I get nice strong stream.

On the plus size Greg from Detailed Images has been very cooperative and responsive to my problems. It might be defective.
