...so Europe is not the worst :-)

In Switzerland the base price (same equipment as mentioned by you) is CHF 103'000.- which is equal to USD 83'740.-
That's MSRP. Street price is usually 6-7% off, i.e. $ 78'000.-

On the other hand we don't have waiting lists. If you want an M3, you go to your dealer and order one. Period.

E60 M5 in SA = 953,500
E92 M3 in SA = 650,000

E60 M5 in USA = 82,900
E92 M3 in USA est = 56,500

This was not very thorough on my part as it appears the base equipment level on the M5 in SA is higher than here, but it gets you in the ball park.

Various

The title of this thread sucks. I'm sure most of you know you can't convert currencies to find out prices. Even if you do know it looks like you dont when you do the conversion and put a $ (USD) on it. For the previous three posters: I posted this conversion of $56,xxx based on M5 on the thread that announced the link much earlier today. Read up guys.

Got it, sometimes the subtleties/tone just doesn't come across with everything written. In retrospect I see now exactly what you meant. I'm glad as well. We have it pretty easy...

That's still cheap compared to prices in Turkey. I suspect that I will pay for a nicely specced M3 around 150.000 Euros = 200.000 USD

Here in Puerto Rico the E46 M3 was between $78Gs and $82Gs. The new M5 goes for $132,000, so I can say that the new M3 will be over $100,000 easy. I paid $61,000 for my new E92 335 Coupe.

Do you know how much a base e46 M3 cost for comparison's sake?

You think you've got it bad? Come to Australia!!
The 2006 E46 M3 retails here for USD$130k (base), so the E92 will probably be a minium of USD$135k or so!

Norwegian Prices

Perhaps a bit of topic but I just thought I could add the Norwegian pricing:

Base M3: 227.650 USD (132.381 is taxes only  ).
Full spec: 273.300 USD

Please note, these prices are without any "packages", I just added all the single options not included in the base model, the highest price will therefore be lower than 273K USD.
