"Permanent" Tire Dressing

I was doing a search for permanent tire dressing. It seems there are a number of products that will last 3-6 months. Anyone have any experience with these products, recommendations for which is best for the money?

One rainy day of driving and every product I've tried is gone and usually replaced by a brownish film which looks worse than an untreated tire.
If you find something that works, let us know!

Post up in the Wash,Wax, Detailing forum. Someone should be able to answer your question there:

Tuf Shine is good according to the reviews. I use Dodo Juice tyromania which is more like a black carnauba for tires and lasts a couple of weeks. It makes a semi-matte new tire finish. Not shiny but it keeps them from turning brown.

kept the matte look on my E92 for about 7 months. only reason it came off is cus i took it off to apply a new coat.

tuf-shine!
two coats
make sure tire is completely dry otherwise you will get cracking and spotting from the sealant
the applicator is pretty sweet as well! it will become hard after you use it an dit dries, but massage it and it will break up and you will be able to use it again (or even rinse it if you want after using)

I use tuf shine. Its not permanent at all but last significantly longer and is much better looking than other tire shines.

have been working on cars for a while but never tried this product maybe i should give it a try. most products claim to be water resistant but once they come in contact with water (during rain or car wash) they will get dilluted and the chemicals loose their durability.

I would highly recommend the TUF SHINE Tire Appearance Kit, which cleans the tire first and then provides a semi-permanent clear coat to the tires that looks great. It provides an amazing shine and easily lasts longer than anything else I've used. Here are two great articles talking about this product:

http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...tuf-shine-inc/

Great video of how to best use it here:

I use Meg's endurance tire gel... if you're looking for shine, then it wont last more than 1 rain day. If you're looking for your tires to look black, then it lasts a month, maybe 2.

I can personally say that tuf Shine is amazing. Some other products mentioned are nice for a temp look, and if you like the super shiny tires.

Tuf shine has lasted for years on my car, while the shine will matte out in few months the protection is not gone! Have you ever had the brown nasty tires? Well that is likely old silcone based dressings that if you don't stop using or clean off will sling onto your paint creating a larger mess.

here is another article I created on the product. http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...tuf-shine-inc/
Its a great product but its NOT the end all be all tire dressing some think it is (they think they will never have to dress the tires again?) but the shine last months and you can boost the shine by simply adding more dressing, you won't ever have to do the prep cleaning again.

Cheers,
GREG
