Halogen Light and Halo Ring Upgrade

Hello everyone I\'m new to this forum and searched it for my question but could not find any info, here is my question:

I have a 2011 F10 with halogen lights I want to upgrade the low beams to get the xenon look, what is the best choice and bulb for xenon look, the bulbs are H7.

Also the halo rings are real weak and I have seen bulb upgrades on eBay to xenon for those too, where are those bulbs located and how do you change them. I looked in the Manuel and could not find nothing on the halo rings bulb change. Please help me out thanks for the answers.

the F10 comes with LED halo (corona) ring. As for the headlight (low & high beam), it's bi-xenon. The only halogen bulb for the headlight is the cornering light which is H7.

The cornering light H7 comes on only when signalling for turn and backing up, that is. Why bother to pay extra $ to buy aftermarket when it only comes on for about 10 seconds.

Yeah mine didn't have the xenon option so my low beam is H7 and my rings are also not xenon, both my rings and low beams are yellow looking. I have seen the xenon option on other f10 and it looks great. I took out bulb already to verify an it is a H7, what do you think? I can send you a pic if you like

Oh! Sorry, I did not know that.

For H7 aftermarket bulb, either Osram & Philips (both European makes) are better than any domestic ones, like Silverstar.

Here is a reputatable UK online site sells the mentined brand. If you want to go with the closest HID/Xenon look, Osram Cool Blue Hyper would be the one. It's rated at 5000K. Not sure if the price fits your budget. Right now, there is a special discount of 15% off the total purchases up to Dec 24/11 (incl. free shipping world wide).

for your Corona ring, if it is halogen, it's probably H8 ... like the last gen E60 5 series and 3 series as well.

There are LED conversion kit out there but they are spec. for the E90 3series and therefore, I cannot really give you any great upgrade suggestion.

When I had the E60, I had tried many different so-called xenon look H8 bulbs, let me tell you ... they all sucked big time. Brands like GP Thunder, PIAA, Mtec ....

The problem with the (halogen) corona ring is that when the headlight is on (low beam on), the power to the ring will dim, thus making the bulb very dull yellow.

Mine is LED on the F10, it does the same thing when the headlight is on, however it's not yellow due to the use of LED, it is just not as bright (probably 50%)

Okay good to know, you would think a car this expensive would come standard with xenon, they look xenon so I assumed they were until 3 days after I bought my car and drive it at night and noticed yellow instead of blue very disappointed. I went to dealer and no dice on conversion. I want xenon so bad that I might just trade car back in for another f10 with xenon. But I can't see losing thousands of dollars if I do, it's BS BMW won't let you buy xenon light for installation.

I don't get the fuss. The OEM Halogen bulbs aren't very strong, but swap them for something better and its a simple fix. I now have Philips Xtreme Power for,low beam and they are significantly brighter, whiter and with a bigger field. I can drive past another F10 who has xenon bulbs and mine have a similar amount of light on the road.

Personally I'm interested in being able to see. The car is cool enough without having to spend another £1,200 on bulbs.

H7 bulb won't fit

does anyone know how to use HID conversion kit on my halogen lowbeam H7?
the bulb is H7 but there is a metal plate that goes on top of the bulb and sandwiched by plug out of the car thats what locks it in place, when i replace that halogen bulb that plug coming from the car won't fit on top of the hid bulb making it impossible to lock in the socket!!! please help

From all of my research I have only found two options for xenon lights....

www.bimmerxenon.com offers xenon halogen bulbs for $40/set for high/low/fog

www.bimmian.com claims to have a true xenon retro fit kit for the F10 for $175 (low beam) with a choice of 6000k or 8000k.

I know that there is a review for the bimmer xenon's on a 2011 528i with pictures. However, I have not heard or seen anything on the bimmian conversion for the F10.
