Cleaning the inside of the wheel

I have the LC 818 in satin black.

I went through a puddle and the car was filthy so I cleaned it all up and the inside of the wheels are filthy. I took them off and cleaned with soap and water but it seems like they are still dirty when they dry. What can I use to clean them up real well?

Sonax wheel cleaner and the DI EZ wheel brush.

The inside of the wheel? I'm sure if you use the brush the brush will be ruined and stained for awhile.. my friend used a high-grit sand paper and it all came off. Inside barrel of his wheel looked brand new after. Never tried it or questioned it, but it worked lol.
