Makita

Am I the only one that fears it?m I bought one three years ago and only used it once for like 5 minutes. Yes gentlemen I was intimidated. I think I will buy a flex. I'm more comfortable with those type. I have a PC already. Anybody else intimidated by the Makita?

Is the fear a rotary in general versus a DA? Control is important when using a rotary buffer and not letting the tool walk you around the car. I have a Dewalt and don't like that simply because it takes a toll on my old weak arms and shoulders.

Which Flex are you considering, DA or rotary?

Would love to hear pro's comments on a rotary buffer versus a powerful DA and the new MF pads out from Megs and Optimum, could that make tool choice less important??

Most guys are switching to the newer DA's weather a PC7424XP / Griot's / Meg's G110v2, and there's a reason for it. Same results, potentially safer (less heat), less things to tape up (less worry about emblems and badges), and even taking less time to polish. While we all have our go-to tools and products, it doesn't mean there isn't a roll that rotaries come in. I haven't used a rotary in months, and then out of nowhere, I needed it on two consecutive vehicles. Even though it's not the first machine I grab anymore, it's still very much needed at times. "You don't need it, until you need it."

its takes time to master it! I havent used one in over a year, but Ill be using one on a full color sand and correction soon IF surbuf/Griots DA/105 dont remove the sanding marks fast enough.

purple foam wool, 105, and a rotary is a deadly combination!

I guess i need to use the wool on my hood because it is stubborn as hell. The rest of the car is ready to go.

I rarely use mine since megs MF system is pretty aggressive, but it's a good machine to have around. Nothing beats the good old rotary + wool + 105 combo.
