Dealer techs keep chipping paint by using a screwdriver to open Adblue cover!

Hey all,

Not sure if you're noticing this, but it's pretty clear that during my three visits to the dealer over the past two years, the techs seem to be jamming a screwdriver behind the AdBlue door to pry the door off. I have chips all around the bumper area now. Do they not know that you just press on the little triangle area and it pops off?

Not a major deal, but as it's the only damage on my car, the fact that it's dealer inflicted is a bit annoying.

Not sure if any of you are seeing the same thing?

Sorry to hear that. I haven't noticed any such problem on my car, which is surprising because my dealer's service department is for the most part full of incompetent fools. If your dealer has done this 3 times, I suggest talking to the managers and filing a complaint. If it happens again, you may be able to demand they fix it or pay up.

Seriously? All you have to do is push the damn thing to pop it off. No screwdriver, and not a lot of pressure, necessary.

I heard of it happening to someone over on the BF forum. Dealer apologized and repainted.

AFAIK, all you have to do is push with your finger on the arrow.

Haven't noticed any chips, but last time they put Adblue in they spilled it all over the quarterpanel... and when it dries it turns sort of white and crusty looking.

Fortunately it just comes right off with water (I always decline the dealer wash).
