rim refinishing... might be a stupid question

hey,

might be a stupid question but what is the disadvantage of refinishing a rim or is there any?

if you keep refinishing a rim, won't the rims just keep thinning down or when they refinish a rim they add back some type of alloy/steel to the areas that are scratched/curbed?

also, if you are refinishing forged or high end rims, wouldnt you need to add back similar high grade alloy/steel or else it would compromise the actual rim?

just curious...

Curb rash is usually always just cosmetic so filling it in won't really weaken it at all.
