Question Please help -- Will Breyton Imagines (18x8.5 ET42) fit my 2007 E92?

Hey Guys,

I recently sold my 2001 330i Sedan (E46) and bought a 2007 328i Coupe (E92). I kept the Breyton Imagine rims from my old car, hoping that I could use them on the new-to-me coupe. I understand that the E46 and E92 have different offsets. Does anyone know if the Breyton Imagine rims will be usable on my E92? I think these are the specs on the Breytons:

18 x 8.5
ET42

I think I will need spacers, but would that make it cost twice as much to get my rims swapped every season?

Thanks!

They will fit, but you do need spacers. For a square setup it shouldn't cost extra if you have spacers, unless the shop just wants to be jerks and BMW tax you.

Run with an 8mm hub centric spacer, up to a 12mm if you want, depends on the look you want.

Thanks Gavin

I thought that a shop would want to charge double for installation with spacers, since they would have to screw in and torque 40 bolts instead of just 20.

I really like the look of my Breytons, and they are REALLY easy to clean! I can't find a picture of them on an E92, but I think they'd look decent.

Kind of a side question -- would it be a really bumpy ride with 18" run-flat tires? Would I be more likely to get a flat tire with 18" tires compared to 17"?

Thanks again!

Garage List
2013 BMW M3  [10.00]
2015 BMW M4  [0.00]
2013 BMW F30  [0.00]
2014 BMW F22  [0.00]
2013 BMW F06  [0.00]
Those should fit, but I'd recommend spacing them out as well. In terms of your run flats, you may notice a decrease in ride quality, but I don't think you're any more likely to get a flat with 18s compared to 17s. Just be aware of the roads you're on and it'll help reduce the chance of a flat or damage to the wheel.

Thanks VMRWheels. I'm new to runflats, and although I like the concept, I fear being stranded on a long trip with a flat tire and no spare so I want to minimize the chances. As long as I'm not increasing my odds of a flat, I'm happy

I don't see any 8mm spacers available, and I don't want to run into issues with the fenders. I guess these 10mm spacers should do the trick.

It will still be 20 bolts with spacers.

Oh, I thought you had to bolt the spacers to the hub, and then bolt the wheels to the spacers.
