Launching your 335

How is everyone launching their 335? I have not really had a chance to figure out the best method yet. I'd like to hear what other people are doing. What rpms are you taking it up to? Pressing the traction control button or holding it down for 5 seconds? Please note if manual or auto.

To be honest, I usually just leave normally, quickly get the clutch all the way out, then hammer it, and shift fast.

I don't want to be replacing clutches...

I was under the impression that your clutch is under warranty...

I think there is a certain amount of clutch you get under warranty...if u burn and toast each clutch a year i'm sure the dealer is gonna wonder what's going on...and send you to proper driving school...

I find out the best and fastest way to accelerate is to feather the clutch out and when you feel like ur tires are grabbing enough, hammer and shift as quick as you can...as Revlis mentioned...

We can't launch out of the hole like cars with bigger tires and LSD...it'll just spin, and the full torque kicking in at 1400rpm doesn't really help wheelspin either....

No I'm pretty sure it's right there in writing....

Or Not, Cause I do not see Clutch Excluded... So yeah, they might fix it for ya, but it's also not listed as something they generally cover so it leaves some room.

Kind of getting off topic here about proper launches, but I just had to add my two bits about the clutch replacement... My friend is a service tech for a dealership (BMW of course), he surprised me saying they DO replace clutches under warranty, but only ONE per car. My best guess is that they do this because of the fact that the CDV will slip the clutch in slowly at higher revs, effectively wearing on it more than an experienced driver who snicked it in right on the mark.

But then again how many drivers are that good? A number on this board I'd guess... but the rest of the US? Hahaha, I'd imagine the CDV saves them a number of transmission replacements, which most would be on the customer's dime due to "abuse".
