So I need new tires ... Worth it to just buy wheel/tire package?
I'm trying to work this out ... help work it out with me
I have a 328xi, the current wheels are as follows (not my car but just like it): Here's my dilemma - I need new tires. I've got Potenza's on there now, but figure I can replace all 4 with decent tires for ~ $800. But here's my logic. I'll probably sell the car in less than 2 years (that's about the shelf life of a car for me). So instead of buying new 18" tires now for $800, I could get some 19" reps and cheaper tires for ~ 1500. Then drive on those until they're done, put the 18s back and trade in the car, then sell the reps I figure I could get at least 700 - 800 for the reps after 15,000 - 20,000 miles, which means I end up spending about the same, if not less, and get 19's as opposed to buying just tires. Basically, I get 19s for free (considering I have to buy tires either way). Foolproof, no ?? I was thinking either CSL reps or these: |

If I were you id go with the m6 reps. From what I've read about them they are very easy to bend so that's something to watch out for if you do get them.

Yea bending is definitely a concern with all the sh!tty roads around here.
Also, I won't be lowing the car (and it's an xi so a little higher anyway), so I need to consider what set of 19s look best with an unlowered car also considering these m3 reps Last edited by ///Chris; 10-23-2011 at 10:59 AM.. |

I'm sure that most would agree that getting a new set of wheels would be ideal. You'll not only be able to enjoy the new setup, but can also resell it or transfer it over to a new car at a later point of time!
