I thought sports package had different size for front and back?

Just switched off of run flats to Good year Eagles. I like them so far but I thought I read on here that front and back have different tire sizes.

The 2008 328i sedan with ZSP came with style 161 wheels - 17 x 8.0 front and 17 x 8.5 rear.

OEM (summer performance) tires were also staggered - 225/45R17 front and 255/40R17 rear.

FUUUCK... They put 225/45RZ on all four.. What do I do?

I feel this is somewhat my fault. I don't even think you can return tires

The old tires were staggered and they just asked me what year the car was.

If they made a decision based on questions they asked you like year make model, then it's their fault as a business for not asking enough questions. They should be the professionals, not you.

Does it matter if I have staggered or not because I am pretty sure they are not going to want to replace two tires.

unless you said put "x" tires on front and rear, then its there fault period, if they took the old ones off how hard is it to read the tire size

Are the rims different sizes to account for different tire sizes because I am betting they mixed everything up in that case.

It matters if you care for the wider tires in the rear for looks and better grip, but it won't harm your car in any way mechanically. You'll probably get slightly better gas mileage. Also, the lip of your rim won't be as protected when parking close to curbs.

Yes, I think it's stamped on the backside of the spokes or the hub.

So I just talked to them and the tires they pulled off were not staggered either and that is what they went by. They said they would be glad to trade me out two tires but they dont think good year GTs come in 255

What do you wheels look like? Are you sure you have the ZSP wheels? Are they style 161s? I think the best thing to do at this point is to check the stamping on the back of the wheels.

post a picture of the wheels you have and we can tell you if those are staggered or not. and if you can make it even just a little bit bigger than the other photo that'd be great.
