Not trying to piss on your bonfire, but you can currently get these tyres for £570 online.

A link would be nice, no point in just saying something without anything to back it up

You can find it yourself if you're going to take that tone.

GLWS - i'm sure people will flock to buy tyres off a forum for more than they could buy them from an online retailer

You might aswell both your comments if you won't back up what you've said because I did check prices online first and made sure this would be the cheapest deal you'll get on these tyres.

I don't think his tone was all that bad.

It is very easy to misinterpret "tone" on the written word, so it's as well not to take offence easily. This is how arguments escalate unnecessarily on forums and things get out of hand.

You both make relevant points. I agree with subzero that your pricing is too close to what one could buy these tyres for from a dealer (Camskill sell them for that price, although no stock of the rears at the moment).

However if one is going to make that point then it would be good to be specific about where that price were found. And let's stress the IF, because in reality it may not be good form to publicly denounce someone's asing price on their for sale thread - this is what stopped me from commenting originally when I had the same thought. (maybe better to PM)

If someone pointed this out in one of my classified threads, i would think it was polite to say "Thank you" for pointing it out and then say "Sorry, would you possibly be able to send me a link to where you can get them cheaper? Cheers."

He originally just said "A link would be nice." - i agree that tone can be misinterpreted online, but i think i interpreted his tone just fine. He was clearly bitter that his tyres weren't worth as much as he thought they were/what he paid for them.

I would have done, but i only quickly posted it up and thought it'd be fairly easy for him to have a look at probably the most well advertised tyre selling place on car forums to confirm - Camskill.

Next time, i won't even bother to point it out - i only did so to help him sell his items ASAP - not to make a fool of him. I wasn't rude in telling him that he had overpriced his stuff, and i didn't expect a short, cold, rude response.

Seems your right, good job I haven't bought them yet. I'd be losing money at £420.

BUMP! Just to be clear Camskill have these tyres on at £114.60 for the 225/40/18 and £174.30 for the 255/35/18 which is a total of £577.80 for all 4 tyres.

I'm now looking for £550 for these.
