Got a couple of Runflats Blizzacks 4mm sat in Callander, also have a mate who travels up and down to Aberdeen on a monthly basis. £50 the pair.

Also thinking about it, got a pair of E46 17" with Vredestiens (probably about 3mm+) tread would need to check when I'm next back in the UK - was looking to again sell for about £50 the pair including the wheels

Nae sure speed really comes in to it for winter? I certainly don`t care as wont be going fast

Bear in mind they won't work in the snow with less than about 6mm of tread, the new tyres come with 9-10mm.

Not totally true
All tyres are different

My mate had winters with around 4mm last year on a 530 auto and was going backwards up hills in snow when i could not even go in a straight line

If this works in other countries i am sure it will in uk

That was actually quite interesting, I had no idea that studded tyres were legal in the UK.
