Wanted 335i or 335D
Just sold my Z4 and I am looking for a 56 or 07 plate 335i/335d preferably with warranty, 19inch alloys sat nav etc basically a fully loaded one as resale is important and I dont want to be stuck with a basic one with high milage.
Please post details of your car with contact number. Cheers James |

Its funny when I was looking for both my car and my wife's I was close to impossible to find a GOOD 335i, someone even offered over asking price on the above car when I bought it.
now you just can't get rid of the car even at a fair price lol |

Cheers guys my budget will only get me in a 56/ 07 plate. I will call a few of you guys.
Is there any probs with the 335d HFPP or injectors like there is with the 335i? I have seen a mint 335i black with red leather 19 inch rims, 56 plate 21000 miles, he is willing to take £13,750. Only thing is its not got Nav, its a manual, good price though!! cheers James |

No real issues with the 335d! Just a boost hose issue which is quite regular one.
335i regular issues are the fuel pump, injectors, turbo's & coil packs to name a few. No car is immune from issues 335i & 335d!!

Its exactly what I was thinking but im tempted as its immaculate, Black with the 19s and i cant wait to own a 335!
I have noticed there not the easiest cars to shift! dont know why? Hopefully a mint Black one with Nav and 19s comes up! Does anyone know if the 335d has common probs like HPFP or injectors failing? Was tempted with the 335d EVOLVe remaped car on here, but the cars been on a drag strip!! which has put me off and I think its got non RFT tyres!, which will be a problem with MOT's next year!. |

As long at the car has a proper service history you can take up a BMW warranty.
Mine was under £400 for the year. As for Sat Nav, I would like to have that on my car but don't. When spending £40k on a new car I guess you would demand this would be a necessity. It will certainly make the car more valuable and desirable come sale time too, but looking at 5-6 year old cars at this value, I don't see it as quite as important. If you keep it a further 2-3 years with further depreciation and age, it's more a case of a well kept car than gadgets in my opinion coming around to selling it at this point. We had this debate on another thread before and there was numerous people happy without the sat nav option. Obviously if you are working to a budget as soon as you start wanting all the toys this will drive up the price and you have to then maybe go for an older higher mileage car that maybe is not in as good condition. The choice on a budget will always leave you to choose between toys or a better fresher car. |

So if im looking at a 56 plate with full BMWSH I can take out an extended warranty that will cover the HPFP/ injector/turbo probs? even though it has lapsed the standard 3 years? I was under the impression that you had to sign up to extended warranty before the 3years BMW warranty expires?

you can take out the warranty at any time, the only issue is that if 3 years lapses you can not claim on anything for the first 30 days after you take out the policy.
I pay 38 pounds per month and it should cover everything. It does get a lot more expensive if the car has over 60k on the clock at the time of taking out the warranty |

Yes you can take out at extended warranty after the manufacturers warranty has lapsed. Not sure what the limit is, just put the reg into the quote system on bmw warranties and it will advise. Depending on the time you might pay slightly more.
335d has some minor issues All 335d's susceptible to - Red boost pipe, seal fails (£160) - (Loss of power over 2k rpm) Turbo Actuator / Pressure Convertors / Vacuum Lines; perish due to heat (£600) - Oil leak on small turbo supply pipe (£150) Rare, notchy gear change or jolting, software update to the gearbox, not normally requiring new box. Common to other models, - Headlight washer cap comes off. Mine came off just before summer, so not always due to frost. - Seatbelt handover fails, grabbing the belt All of it should be covered under warranty apart from the last 2 which were refused due to them being trim. I can DIY the seatbelt put i paid to fix the headlight washer cap. My electronics when haywire last year too. Turn's out my passenger footwell control module can become faulty. But before i had time to book it in it fixed itself and hasn't happened since. 335i is a beast, but get the warranty as you have the HPFP, injectors and coil packs issues too. |

Been trying to contact the black 335i with 21000 miles, I will try and wait for a black one unless a speced up grey or silver appears at a sensible price. Ive found some of the people seeling want near to dealer money! If only I sold my car a few weeks ago as there were a few for sale in the £13-14200 bracket.
Missed out on a black speced 335d on auto trader last week I was willling to pay more than what he sold it but fair play to the guy, he said he wouldnt sell it as he has taking a deposit. Im not really fussed whether its a 335i or 335d, I think I will enjoy driving the petrol more but I will enjoy the mpg of the 335d! Im sure something will come up in the next two weeks. Has to be below 55,000 miles, BMW service history and 19 inch wheels, Anouther issue Im having is that people are putting on non RFT tyres (which I just did on my Z4) but BMW have notified me that it will fail an MOT next year if it does not have RFTs on! What a load of rubbish! |
