Anyone getting a 320i with 18" wheels?

anybody here getting a 320i with 18" rims? i think that eventually if i do get an E90, that could only be a 320i as its damn costly here in this country! but i cant accept the 16" ugly rims on a BMW with big fat tyres, so my question is does it really affect the stock performance on the 320i if the rims are changed to 18"? making the car go slower at top speed and increase the fuel consumption?
thanks...
else i gotta save up for another year and get the 325i...

what about 17"? they look ok, besides I think 18" is too much for the 320i.

All the advertisements in the UK were 320's with the 162's..NO E90 would look bad with the 162 18" wheels..Also, the 161's (17") are vey nice if you want a sportier look...

I couldnt agree with you more on the ugly a$$ 16's they put on as stock..I hate the fact that find the UGLIEST, not necessarily the cheapest rims on all their cars..MY X5 is coming with 17's!!! can you believe that?! I wouldnt even take delivery of the thing without at least some 18's or 19's on there...

Wider tires = more rolling resistance; this plus the extra weight of a larger wheel/tire combo will have a greater apparent effect on a car with a less powerful engine (320i) than one with a more powerful engine (the other two). Just something to keep in mind!

is there any difference btw the ride height of a 320i and that of a 325i?
i know that the 330i comes with sport suspension setup as stock and it looks just nice on the gap btw the wheel arch gap?

if i change to 17"/18" rims, do i need to change to aftermarket suspension to reduce the ride height?

I don't think there's any ride height difference between teh 320 and the 325, but someone plz correct me if I'm wrong.

Whether you want to change to aftermarket suspension to reduce the ride height is up to you, there's no reason why you HAVE to reduce the ride height when changing to a larger rim, but I agree that less wheel gap looks better

I say go for the 18's... just drive using a higher RPM

I will overload you with pics of my pride and joy!!

Will also let you know the consumption - it will beat my current '99 323Ci automatic hands down!!

I didn't go for the sports suspension as the price was soaring with all the other extras I have added!

The wheels that are going to be on the car are the Ellipsoid Spoke 162 8/8 1/2J x 18.

Can't wait to get it!! Only problem is we pick it up in Dundee which is around an hour away from Aberdeen and the car will be covered in dead bugs by the time I get back up the road

Yeah, don't stress it. A 320i with 18s is no prob, had 19s on my e46 320ci and i orderd my e90 with 17s which i will be using as winter wheels and then i will buy 19s for summer. So go for 18s if you want, runflat tires are quite heavy so if you want to save some unsprung weight throw on some normal tires instead.
