I want to secretly tune

Hi,
We have a 2009 E90 330d (245hp) and I am interested in tuning. However, it is a lease vehicle and I want to make sure BMW do not know it is tuned. The re-mapping device that has been brought to my attention is \"M-Flash\" from more-bhp.com. It sounds exactly what I\'m after and ups the power to 310hp and 690NM torque.
Does the key and car record this or not?
What are your thoughts/recommendations?

Think your secret tune might be a secret lie.

Ohh. Well, it is! I just want to know some tunes that BMW can't detect when taken off. I think M-Flash can do this.

If a dealer has reason to look for a tune then they will find it. 'Secret" tunes are a marketing hype.

Balls. The M-Flash has the ability to re-load the original settings and maps - still visible? Hmm. It is a lease car you see so I will have to investigate my rights.

I'd say a reflash is visible to the dealer, if you shot your engine and the dealer had to pay for the damage, unless they could find something fishy. If they want to find traces of a flash, and if they try really hard, they might find traces of it.

I'd prefer a reflash if I was in your clothes (since I don't like tampering in the Ecu) but since I don't know anything about this flash, I'd ask them who did the remap and state the question if you could log the parameters once you have had your flash. Just to see how your engine is liking the flash, that is.

I'd say piggies are less visible than flashes since they hide stuff from the Ecu, but as I said earlier they're not my cup of tea, piggies I mean.
I'm not entirely sure about the visibility of the flashes, it's a guess.

Your car will be out of warrant soon, since it's a 2009, so perhaps it doesn't matter to much?

Give ESS a call, they have a flash tune available for the 330d that you switch back and forth from stock to tune. They are a very reputable tuning company.

I have just found out that the M-Flash is totally undetectable! I asked them and they said they work closely with a BMW engineer and no matter how hard he tried, he could not find any trace of the M-Flash being used!
HOWEVER
I also found out this
The 2009 245ps LCI model we have cannot be tuned through the OBD unlike the pre-LCI 231hp model as it has security (like DRM on a music file). Bummer.
More-BHP (the company in question) have said that they can remap the ECU though to achieve the same results but I would imagine this is very obvious.
"Many thanks for your enquiry about the M-Flash.

No useful evidence stored anywhere. We are friends with our local BMW Master Tech who still hasn't ever been able to prove a car has been remapped, even if the ecu has been opened !

The M-Flash is very well made and extremely reliable, there are a number of 330d out there using the system.

I am assuming your 330d is still the 231bhp model? The newer 245bhp model cannot be done by the M-Flash as the ECU is protected against OBD programming.

The last manual 330d 231ps that was dyno'd independently made 308bhp and 680Nm on "race" programming. Of course you don't need to have it this strong but it is available should you desire this."

Thanks for your help guys, will take a look at your recommendations and links!
