Did They Discontinue Space Gray Metallic For 335i?

I wrote up my order and everything at the dealership today and am going to approve it tomorrow after I hear from my credit union, but the guy told me they stopped selling space gray metallic on the 335i. It's right on their website and in their brochure I got like 3 weeks ago in the mail. Is this guy a liar or did BMW get rid of a nice color?

Maybe you guys can clarify, what color is this?

I highly doubt they stopped making space gray as this was a new color for the e92 and they have been using it to advertise the e92 as well as the new x5.

I question your CA's sources, this would be a pretty big deal considering how popular space gray is

they haven't discontinued space gray. it's been selling pretty well.

I guess the guy was pretty dumb then. He gave me a little history about how he used to work for Chevy and came to BMW. The guy kinda looked like a redneck salesman, and I wasn't wrong in my assumption.

Looks like I'm going to have to go to another dealership tomorrow to checkout what the space gray looks like since he said they didn't have any in stock at LB BMW

He may of meant the color itself is on back order, meaning if you need something painted in Space Gray through your dealer that you CANNOT get it.

No, I asked him about space gray, we even got the book out, and he said sepcifically, "BMW does not make that anymore."

Well are you looking at the coupe or sedan?

All: Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe the Space Gray is only on the coupe.

only on the coupe, for now atleast. I'm sure that will change though. And, even if they did discontinue that space gray, there would be another gray to take it's place. BMW sells alot of that color type (steel gray, space gray, etc.,)

it's on the x5 also...not a fan of the arctic aqua hue at night...that's why i chose sparkling graphite...but as far as i know they are selling it on the e92 and the x5 and that's it!!! and i say thank god cause i was more of a steel gray fan anyways and you can't even get the space gray on the m sport version of the e92 in Europe but sparkling graphite is offered..

I was very close in ordering Sparkling Graphite...until I saw it under direct sunlight. It was purple!

It's a good shade of gray under certain conditions, but its character is too inconsistent for my taste. (Sometimes it looks aggressive, but sometimes its kind of feminine IMO.)

My GF thought it was "pretty" though

Maybe they are just putting the color on sabbatical since there seems to be so damned many cars in that color. Or maybe they just ran out of paint.

I wasn't all that impressed with Long Beach either. They didn't really want to deal price at all. I bought at Irvine. If you like I can give you the details. PM me.

ahh yes.. a buddy called my car a "peanut butter and jelly sandwich" terra interior... sparkling graphite exterior..

and AFAIK, space gray is still available. bmw generally doesn't discontinue paint colors for a while.

Or they are changing the name a bit.
Either way, the color is boring to me and a bit flat (not sure why it's so popular
