pushing it in germany (tunes)
Hey, was just wondering what you guys (US) get away with driving in germany (tunes)? I had to get my car re inspected, and totally forgot to switch out my 4" dp no cat, and to my surprise i still passed. the car is quite loud so I was really surprised.
 Is anyone running water/meth over here? something id really consider. My german mechanic friend says why not? but to him we are allowed to do anything compared to the germans. not sure tho?Thx |

I am, and some others, are running fully catless. Some run Procede's and others JB3's or 4's. Once I get my CMGS I will be running water/meth. Some here are already running it with great results.
On the inspection thing, it is based on the US Army Europe inspection policy and is normally safety based to ensure that your car mechanically sound and that you don't have items that need significant repair. Luckily we don't haev to go through emissions. Are you coming to the meet?

what meet? the one tomorrow? no, wish I could. I have to work. I need to be more active other than being in forums. I hook up with a german bmw club, but next time you guys meet up, let me know.

I took my car in for some work, with all my stuff on ( full cat less exhaust, meth, jb4, etc) and nobody said anything about it. They actually liked my car and said it sounded awesome. Probably wasn't the smartest move I've ever made but can't change that now.

Im about to get meth on my car.
Also, have a catless system but prefer to keep the downpipe cats on cause my cold starts are loud as hell. Dont wanna further piss off my neighbors. As far as tunes, i havent had any issues either. Once forgot to turn off my digi boost gauge at the dealer and my mechanic looked at me with a grin asking me if that was from BMW.. I told him no, its aftermarket and he didnt say anything else.. As far as inspection. I havent had to go through them for a year. I dont even remember what mods i had on at that time. I just needed to get new tires to pass inspection though. haha.

Good to know they still just "look". I wasn't sure if I should take my DP's and stuff off before I ship her back over there. I may pull the roll cage out since it's so simple though.

Yeah lol, just got orders back to Spang (after Korea) so early 2013 I should be in country. I still can't believe I got so lucky. Since the wifes German, I'll be shipping everything over at the end of this year.
