Upgraded base audio system

Picking up the car later today from getting the audio system severely upgraded

I will post some pics as well as a review after the weekend.

For those interested, here's what I had done:

JL Audio CleanSweep® CL441dsp OEM Audio Interface
BSW Stage 1 upgrade for front only (upgraded 4" speakers and addition of tweeters)
Swapped under-seat 6.5" speakers for factory Hi-Fi 8"
Above two powered by a JL Audio XD400/4 amp
JL Audio Stealthbox® containing 2 JL Audio 13TW5-3 subs
Subs powered by a JL Audio 500/1v2 amp

Should be thumping!!

Nice man! Mind if I ask how much that ran you?

On a slight tangent.. my subs keep acting up lately so I just don't run them anymore...

i actual inquired at a local shop on speaker upgrade.

he said i already had (2) 8" subs under the front seats but he wasn't going to replace them.

i think he said he counted 10 speaker.

(1) in the dash pad
(1) sub under driver seat
(1) sub under passenger seat
(2) in the driver door - 4" and tweet
(2) in the passenger door - 4" and tweet
(1) in the rear driver door - 4"
(1) in the rear passenger door - 4"
(1) in the rear under the windshield

i don't think i have logic 7 though.

@Litos - Check into BSW (http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com) they have direct fitment speaker upgrades that sound really good. If you don't have L7 you've got the Hi-Fi. A little research and you'll be able to find out exactly which system you have.

@Painful - All the components and amps ran me about $1800. The install with custom amp rack was about $800.

The guys at Soundscape Car Audio in McKinney (http://www.soundscapecaraudio.com) did an absolutely amazing installation job! The amp rack was completely custom and much more than I was expecting. The sound quality of the BSW upgrade speakers is awesome! Here's a couple pics of the Stealthbox and amp rack installed. Enjoy!

so do you still have the OEM L7 amp in the trunk? I need a new one mine got water damaged somehow and I have no audio at all.

I didn't have the L7 system to start with...I had base audio.

awesome - looks like i can only get the $519 Stage 1 audio system, correct !?!?

i see all the speakers i need, with the exception of the subs underneath.

still doing some research but any help from someone who is already knowlegable on these syustems would be beneficial.

Nice. I got my JL 500 amp running the two earthquakes 8" and they sound great.

Do you have another amp for the other speakers? My SWS-8's are too loud and drown out the other components. I really need another amp. I think I'm going to get a JBL MS-8 to power the other devices (and of course, tune the audio).

How is that stealthbox mounted btw? Does it come out pretty easily in case you need to transport something with the seats folded down?

It's secured by two bolts that attach it to the rear deck lid. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to take out, but I'll let you know if I ever need to haha.

That's the plan. Depends on what happens with work, but I should be there and may bring a buddy/fellow 335 owner along with me.

I would love to hear your setup also. I turn the bass setting to the lowest so I don't have too much issue.

Anyone know is the Pioneer Premier Shallow subs with fit under the front seats in place of the original subs? They are 2.5 in deep where the SWS8's are 1.75 inch.

I don't think it will fit or you have to cut the bottom portion out...
