I have a spare one, ended up buying two as the first one did not arrive, I'll sell it on, it did sting me a bit on the old customs tax.

I'm interested in buying, could you send me a PM with pipcs and price if possible please? Also just out of curiosity, could you give me a break down of the prices if buying from the US? Incl. P&P, Tax and Duty etc?

Much appreciated!

I am also looking for..

1. Under Seat Jumper Connectors for my SWS Subs
2. 2 or 4 x OE Speaker Adaptors
3. SWS Spacers (contacted JTSherri but no response either unfortunately )

I'm upgrading from stock (non idrive / non L7) to Focal KRS 100 and SWS subs + possibly rear deck speakers (hence requiring an extra 2 OE spkr adaptors) and need the above plus Technic's harness to do the job

Ready to buy for anyone selling these, holla.

Hey AWBimmer

The harness is the main thing thats going to halt proceedings, if necessary you can make the OE Speaker adapters using the BMW part numbers in my guide. They will cost you about £10. The jumpers can also be fabricated so no biggy. If you get no joy with the spacers you can use MDF. I think I've got a template somewhere I could email over

I have been in touch with VP - technic is out of harnesses until August.

So here's the deal on harnesses: Technic has a harness design that plugs into the back of the stock head unit and brings out front and rear speaker signals, and remote turn on. He is out of it until the first part of August.

We have been making a harness which plugs into the underseat woofer connections, and brings the front output speaker wires and the door input speaker wires into the trunk, along with wires for the underseat woofers. This works very well with our base Stereo upgrades, since we leave the stock rear speakers alone (rear speakers help very little and are, in my professional opinion, a waste of your money). We split the harness so that you are taking the signal to the inboard of the L R wheel well location - where we put the Clean Sweep - and the woofer and door speaker wires to the OEM amp location (near the LR tail light). If we are using our Zapco DSP amps, we run all the signal and speaker to the same corner.

So we sell technic's harness when it's available - usually as part of our packages, and we forward inquires for just the harness on to technic directly (you may have already heard from him). I don't know if our harness would be of any use to you or not. Our harness does not have a remote turn on wire and we depend on the JL CleanSweep or a RTO signal-sensing widget.

In general, we sell packages, not parts. We do have SWS woofers, and we could put together a package with two woofers, rings and gaskets, and the harness we discussed above for $435 with front door speaker rings thrown in.

I was looking to do exactly the same for the front door and subs.

Have you considered the Blaupunkt harness?

It pretty much does the same thing.

It plug in the back of your head unit and gives you audio in and audio out, either on a 2m version or a 5.5m version to take to the boot.

You can either loop the rear channels back into each other or amp them too.

It can be had for around £60 on line, not sure how that compares? I think Technic designed his originally as Blaupunkt stopped selling theirs in the US, however still available over here.

I have seen - impressive and I am tempted and might yet do it but would rather have a professional do it. I have no doubt my attempt will rattle.

Well you've got to do what you're comfortable with but if you've got relatively good DIY skills and a bit of patience it's quite straight forward. There's loads of people on here who can give you help and advice along the way.

A decent installer will likely charge you a good £300 + labour, maybe more for a simple amp and amp and speaker swap which would in some cases cover the whole cost of you're equipment!

Be brave!

Hey gIzzE

Just wandering does the Blaupunkt harness have a remote feed as well?

Hmmm? Can't remember.
I think so as you can just use that and not even attach to teh battery (recommended for the smaller 2ch amp only).
However, if not you could use the 12v out as a remote feed and wire your amp to the battery, which I think most would do anyway.
This would work well as it would turn the amp on as soon as you unlocked the car and then send it to sleep 16 mins after you lock it when the car goes to sleep.
Would stop the annoying thump you get with most amps where the amp cuts in after a signal is sent to the inputs.

B33M3R's install is cracking from what I've read in the DIY guide and plan to use that as a staple during my install.. which leads me on to saying...

Yes, I'll be doing it myself. Just waiting for the few bits and bobs to come through. Audio Assault do take their time with the subs though, having said something like the courier people couldn't locate it and now they're going to send another brand new pair out today. Not sure what to believe as it's been a week and delievery was estimated 1-3 days lol.

I hadn't considered this no, but luckily managed to get my hands on (or soon I hope) Technic's harness via Zero7 (thanks buddy, I’ll let you know when I’ve received it) and JTSheri just emailed me this morning saying the SWS spacers are readily available to buy so all that's left now is the..

1. Underseat Jumper Connectors
2. 2 x OE Speaker Adaptors..

Sorry B33M3R, where did you say I can get hold of these from please?

After this, just need my line out converter, gain control remote and some cables and I’ll set to go!! Wooo!!

Thank you!

This may be of interest to you, appears to be the Blaupunkt wiring kit along with matching PnP amp.

Well it is a cable that has daisy chains the head unit and oem harness and plugs into the parrot kit, so the speaker signals and power are routed via the head unit, but thinking about it you could just chop the cables for the speaker signals and run some RCAs to them, giving you a nice harness to add an amp and routing the cable back to the speakers without butchering the oem cabling. Which I am presuming is what Technics harness does?

Here is a pic...

It gives you speakers out of the head unit and then back in again, and 12v switched to turn on the phone kit, but would also turn on an amp.

The speaker connectors are standard iso connectors, and you can buy 5m extensions for around £10, you would need two, one to the amp and one back out again.

But you are looking at around £30 all in.

I cut the oem harness last time I put an amp in, but this would be completely plug and play, and all for around £30.
