Looking for Front and Rear OEM Spec Brake Pads
Shortly i,m going to need new pads all round for the 330i and to be honest i don,t know which direction to head .
I got a price from my local dealer of £67 for Fronts and £56 for Rears plus VAT all round which i thought was a good price for a pad that i know works so to speak. added to that they supply sensors for £15 it ticks all the boxes Question is What is everybody else using at the moment, i,m open to alternative recomendations (EBC, Pagid, Brembo,Mintex) Really struggled to find a supplier who does both Fr and Rr pads though and none list the sensors which is a huge PITA. Whats everybody using and who can you recomend to supply them ? Cheers in advance. |

Just stick with OEM imho. There are good pagid in and EBC options that will improve performance slightly but usually with a decrease in disc life, increase of noise, or cost increase. The OEM pads on the E9x are pretty good to be honest

Your rears are the same as the 335i btw if it helps. Buy from Julian at Balance Motorsport. Or try Brakes International for oem pads (and others)

Cheers guys
Good prices from Brakes Int , Half price of Gen BMW for both the pads and Sensors but no mention of the manufacturer. This concerns me a little (actually a lot) Anybody used their pads ? What brand are they and how do they perform ? Lots of Logo,s on website but just a BPX ? code when you get to till !! Took a while to get to right section on bmminiparts site and then it wouldn,t give me prices for any pads, Its going to Email me prices but Sensors weren,t much cheaper than ones direct from BMW so doesn,t bode well i guess. Will report back when i get price. Saw MTEC do a kit for Full set of discs and pads front and rear at £241. looked OK but the discs are Cross drilled and grooved and look asthough they will munch pads in no time. can,t see me ever getting on track so they look a step to far to be honest Any more options gents. |

BI supplied me TEXTAR last time I ordered BMW pads there.
Normally its a big brand name. in fact many say the BMW pads are in fact Textar or jurid made anyhow but never seen it confirmed as fact. I have dimpled/grooved rotors and no notable diference in pad wear at all. A little more noise under braking - a slight whooshing sound, but thats it. Steve

Just occured to me :- 2 Silly questions
1. Do the wear sensors have to be replaced every time (ie do they fall apart when you remove them or something?) I,m not tight i hasten to add 2. Do Crossdrilled discs have to go down as a mod with the insurance co ? They look the mutts IMHO |

So if your pad warnings had come on then yes your sensors will need changing for sure. Cross drilled discs probably a 'mod', I would say so as they have 'visual' appeal. |
