Coding answer needed for digital speedometer

My friend has a 2009 E92 335i which is from Canada. He lives here in the U.S. now. Is there a way to code the digital speedometer to display MPH since his cluster displays KM/H?

Thanks in advance!

Just change the units in the OBC or iDrive settings

It is not my car but I do not think they have that option in the iDrive. Getting the spedometer to display on the digital display is an aftermarket mod. I was wondering if when they code it if they can choose between MPH or KH/M?

You can choose units through the BC stalk I believe. It's in the manual somewhere.

Thanks guys I will pass the word but I am not sure how this would be a feature built into the car. The speedometer is set up for KH/M not MPH. So even if there was a place to change this it still is KH/M on the cluster. There is some new mod my other friend recently got and that was making it so you can see your MPH on the digital display between the speedometer and tach. So what I am trying to get out of this is when coding that feature can you choose between MPH and KH/M.

The dealer said they can replace the cluster for something like $1700.00. He is not gonig to change it was he will eventually go back to Canada.

Yes it is a code-able feature to show the digital speed read out.
What we're saying is that after its coded if you change your units through the BC stalk and it will show you km or m per hour.

Thanks for the responce here. So it sounds like this may be what I am looking for.

So if he gets the digital readout enabled he will then be able to swap between MPH and KM/H on the digital readout? He has iDrive so I would imagine he could do it there as well.

In the US our cars have both MPH and KM/H on out speedometer however on his Canadian 335i it only has KM/H with no MPH on the speedometer.
