Break's
Hi All,
1st time owner and have a 335d(07) bought 2nd hand in Feb. The rear break pads need changing and Dealers want between £210-£250 for the pair of pads. Independents can do this for £100. My question is how vital is it to get this done by BMW or if I do it through independents am I going to regret this? Any one recommend a garage that they have used? I am based in Kingston. All advise appreciated. Thanks |

No asked just for pads.
Battersea quoted £208 i think. When the breaks were applied lightly i could hear a noise had a look and the rear pads definitely needs changing. |

My car has regular breaks - for ciggies and tea.
It also has good brakes for slowing down and stopping |

on an '07 plate the saving of £100 is neither here nor there on resale.. so i'd go with an indy if it were a new car though, dealer fo' sho' good luck! |

Given that friction related components aren't warranty related surely it would make sense to get it done at a trusted Indy and save £££. Just what I would do personally.

Doesn't the book only get stamped for servcing, i.e. oil changes?
I can't see any reason to pay dealer prices for brake pad changes...

Go to Birds BMW in Iver.
I'll be taking my car there even though it's over 100 miles each way.
