iPhone contacts being listed twice on iDrive?

Hi, Without the risk of messing my MS Outlook contacts and calendar how can I stop my contacts displaying twice in the iDrive display when my iPhone 4 is connected via Bluetooth?

I so not think it is a iDrive issue, possibly with the phone (however I can not see any options on the phone to stop this. I do not see the duplication when browsing my contact on the phone) or iTunes when syncing does anyone know how to fix this?. I tried to fix this before and I removed all my appointment in my MS Outlook not good so I do no want to do this again thanks.

If I can help it I dont want to pay for an iDrive update, as I could be looking at £150-£200.

Try deleting you phone from the car, then give your phone a new BT name and re-pair with the car.

This will prove if the issue is with the phone rather than some historical muddle between the phone and car.

I had this issue when my contacts had been duplicated and were in the phone memory and also stored on the SIM card....

Very true, you can select 'only display phone / SIM contacts' on the handset, but not in the car.

I am aware that the duplicates could well be coming from the phone memory and SIM card but I cannot see at how with to stop this either on the iPhone or the iDrive to from happening?
