You would need to do shedloads, coding, new loom and last (but by no means least) an entire new dashboard with the hump.
Forget it - selling your current car and buying one with i-Drive would be an easier and cheaper option. I half suspect that these from Latvia and Lithuania are from stolen vehicles.

I don't think the dash is too expensive either. I'd definitely investigate further before binning the idea; creepy coupe is definitely the man to speak to.

http://www.navtvman.co.uk/index.html I still think that this (£2k) is cheaper than trading your car in and buying one with iDrive. |

Oddly enough there is another thread started today looking at this eBay item
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=526398 2k is a lot but the idrive is good I know you can get a sat nav for less but it's much nicer to have it integrated, and the screen is great for radio, pdc etc... You'll get some back at resale time as well, although nowhere near what you paid to get it installed prob. The other chap wanted to upgrade from the old idrive to the new!

There is a thread of epic proportions on this in the American section
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...idrive+install I read through the whole thing. I only understood about half of it but realised that it wasn't something that should be tackled by anyone who isn't some kind of techy or electrical engineer. I think the guy created a PDF how to that you can download. That will let you see just how big a job this is. |

Yeah not interested in doing it myself, was wondering if buying the parts required then paying someone to fit it was better but to be honest i think its just too much for me to stump up right now.
I have the AUX connection for the IPOD (not the best way but ive got used to it) and if needs must good ol Tom Tom comes to the rescue. I know its no IDrive but for 2k i think i will have to say a no no to it...........shame like the look of it. Thanks to all your replies and advice, great place this! |
