Taking your 335i on a road trip with mods

I'm getting ready to make a trip to Vegas and my buddy has got me all worried about leaving my V5 and forge dv's installed. He is saying what if you break down and ge towed to the dealer. Ok I can see that argument but why even bother with mods if you're that paranoid anything could happen. I want to have power on that long trip to V! I will admit now he has me thinking so I thought I would ask here. Does anyone on the forum pull their mods before a long road trip ?

No problems, tell your buddy most of us probably wouldn't mod our cars if it meant we couldn't drive them when we want.

I wouldnt own the car if I thought I would have an issue. IF you are scared, sell the car.

That said, Ive driven my car from Portland OR to Denver (when I bought it), Denver to Vegas twice, Denver to LA and up the coast to San Fran and back. 28-30mpg and comfort and passing power and handling...best car ever for a road trip in my book.

LOTS AND LOTS of HEAVILY modded cars drove up to Vegas 2 weeks ago for Mfest. Trust me, you will be fine

You'll be fine. I've taken many trips with my previously modded 335i, and no problem. Just don't drive crazy.

I wasn't scared I just never even thought of it until he brought it up. My 335 is an 07 with 41k on it and the only issue I ever had was the fuel pump. Ironically the fuel pump went out 3 days after I got the letter to change it out from BMW. I was just feeling it out with other forum members . Thanks guys

drove my car from Houston to Vegas with my JB3, DCI, BOV, Exhaust..

you'll be fine.

If you're really that worried just bring some tools so u can at least pull out that chip if anything happens (doubtful but ehh who knows). I dont think they'll trip as much over the DVs. Prob wont even notice lol.

Thanks man . I guess I asked the question wrong but ya I probably will bring something to get the tune out at least. My buddy was saying that "if" you break down you don't want to lose your warranty. I've never worried about it until he mentioned it I was just asking forum members

Why you asking such a question. You are driving a 50k car that is 3 years old... you are not driving some POS beater.

Your car will explode and innocent bystanders will probably die.

Dude did you not read the post. I was JUST ASKING ! I never thought about pulling the tune and intake before a trip my buddy suggested it since I still have warranty. Since you had nothing to add why did you even bother posting .

For everyone else thanks for your response. This is the first long trip I have taken with the V5 and since I don't have an oil cooler and it's getting warm I was concerned when my buddy brought it up.

Don't worry be happy and don't think too much. Just enjoy the trip. And if someone wants to race you on a long straightaway, just blow them away.
