Taking Delivery Tomorrow
Hey everyone, I'm taking delivery tomorrow of my new 335is. The dealership I'm going to is about 50 miles away and I have to take two major highways to get there. I'm kind of paranoid that my new car might get some chips and the like on the drive home since it's not protected. So I'm wondering, is there anything I can tell the dealership to prep or temporarily put on the front end of the car to protect it?
Thanks |

Congrats on the new car, you have nothing to worry paint chips are normal but if you are paranoid just put some painters tape on bumper and partial on the hood and you are good to go

Relax and just enjoy driving the car. Your paranoia is going to take all the fun out of the experience!

Congrats! I'm assuming you'll be getting a clear bra installed immediately, which is why you're concerned? I wouldn't worry about it for 50 miles though. Just drive conservatively, keep your distance, and avoid driving behind trucks.

Don't drive it home, have them deliver it into your garage and never drive it.
You won't get rock chips that way. Or

Just drive the car and enjoy!
If you are crazy about your finish, as I am, keep the paint sealed every 4-6 months and have a good body shop fix up the minor issues every 24 months. I had clear stone guards on an old Porsche. After a few years, the old, faded plastic looked worse than normal paint chips and they cost more to replace\repair then paint would have. |

Got her home safe and sound. I'd like to put a nose mask on the front though until I get the clear bra installed. Do you guys know if the 335i mask will work or is there a different one for the 335is bumper?

Nice man, congrats on the car and enjoy the ride home! As others have said, go easy on the car, steer clear of trucks/tailgating, and you should be fine. I get my car detailed once or twice a year and have just learned to accept that if you drive the car often and hard, there is nothing you can do about chips.
