Scrapes...

How many have scraped the bottom of their front bumper? Even though no one can see it I still know it's there.

All the freakin time. Living in LA and having the lowered M-sport suspension is not a good combination... But it's mainly on garage / parking lot ramps that I scrape it. Can't people make flat ramps???

The only good thing is it's not noticeable unless u look real up close and underneath the bumper. Anyone know if touch-up paint works ok for this?

I did it on my first week of ownership. Got to admit, I am a lot more careful after the first incident.

I got a flat tire with my snow tires on (non RFT) and when my car was coming off the flat bed they scraped the underside of the front bumper.

It's way too far back to see, but I know it's the only scrape so far.

A scraped lip is basically a given for any sort of extended ownership of a car. Nobody's gonna notice or care unless you've busted the lip to hell and back.

I hate scrapes & scratches... I hate parking lot stoppers, I hate them alot! so now I only park backwards.... I already spent $650 to repaint my front bumper... and I'm going to repaint it again soon becoz of the same reason... I just can't live with scrapes and scratches.... be careful with valet parking guys also, they don't give a shit about how they park your car, you have to watch them and tell them how to park your car.... even the dealers when you bring your car for service..... they will scrape the bottom of your front bumper.... always check your car...

Yep, scraped the bottom of my front bumper a couple of days ago. Not noticeable at all unless you know it's there, but I know it's there. Will probably do a touch-up since it's not a visible blemish.

Hidden scrapes under the front bumper seem de rigeur for a DD. Not a big deal to me at all if the only time I can see it is when my car is up on a jack.

midshrink...DD=Daily driver.

Love my car, but it's going to get whacked given the way I use it. And last night it did. Ran into a phone shop to help out my GF's younger brother, came out 1 minute later after GF who was sitting in my car called...the car in front hit me on the way out. Scrape! That one is going to have to get fixed, and the dude who did it was chill, didn't run (even though at the time he thought no one was in my car and no one noticed) So there is a positive way to look at someone hitting your car in a parking lot...time to get the front end fixed...at no extra cost to the guy who hit my car, so nice for me.

Agree 100% Mine is a "daily driver" car. Bummed, but not as bummed as I thought I'd be, about the scrape. Now it's time to relax about the car and realize it's meant to be driven and enjoyed, and will invariably suffer some "wear and tear" as a result. When I first brought it back from Germany wanted to protect it from every blemish and mark, but that's not a realistic goal, and if I want a car without a mark, well, there are better ways to spend $38K.

Thanks for your replies and VERY reasonable perspective!
