A friend of mine works for these guys (FJB Hotels 1st link) and he thinks that they are the best hotels in Bournemouth/Poole. I'd give the Chine a miss though as it is in Boscombe. I'm afraid that I have got no personal experience of staying in any of Bournemouth hotel apart from Chez Boyd (1 star).

The Royal Bath hotel is very central but I'm afraid that I do not know how good it is.

My office manager always goes to The Cumberland which she rates highly but it's only got 3 stars.

This is the only hotel that I have stayed in locally and it's in Studland. 75 metres from my favorite pub. It's a cross between Fawlty Towers and an Enid Blyton book but I love it.
