TPMS Sensor's from other cars

Will TPMS sensors from say a 2010 honda civic work on an aftermarket rim with a 2011 328i?

I thought TPMS sensors were somewhat universal but I want to know if they will work. I found some on craigslist that came off a 2010 civic, and I recently picked up a set of Stern st-11's for the bmw.

Negative, sorry. Sensors are specific to the make of car and sometimes even the year and model of car. We sell the OEM replacement sensors for your car for $53 each.

Thanks Gary, I may have to get them... In your TPMS stickied post the pricing is drastically different though, is that out of date? And does the 53 include the valve stem?

"The pricing on 2010 and 2011 sensors is higher, currently at $80 per sensor, or $88 including the valve stem. "

While you are answering questions Gary, am I going to need different lug nuts for the Stern ST-11's? If so can you link me to what I need?

Sorry, no idea on that one. Might be best to contact a dealer for that brand.
