Blackberry Pearl 8100
I am about to purchase one of these and wonder how many owners have been able to sync their 8100 with specifically an I drive equipped E90 and what functions you have on the car (ie caller display/phonebook etc).

I do not have I drive, but I am having a difficult time getting the Pearl to stay paired w/ the Bluetooth.. It keeps pairing and unpairing.. Results are very inconsistent in the posts... Some are able to get it to pair by disabling address book transfer or cleaning up their contacts, neither have worked for me and some others...

No problems with the pearl. I have an 06 325. I DID have to get the bluetooth in the car updated. (I had trouble regardless of the phone.) I was told it was a problem on some of the earlier 06 models.
After the update no problems. It works great! |

I have the Pearl and have had zero issues with my 03 M3 and my 335is should be here sometime this week. I can't see having issues with a new car equipped with a newer generation of bluetooth.

Have Bluetooth and the Pearl w/o i-Drive, and it syncs and functions perfectly.

I just picked up my 335i (w/ iDrive) this past week and my phone syncs fine but ONLY transfers address book contacts up to "H". So all I get is A-H. Has anyone had this same problem or know how to get the rest of my contacts to show??

I've got the 8100 and have no issues with full phonebook trasnfer. I think I've seen elsewhere that once you hit 1,000 contacts that you start running into problem. So if you have more than 1,000 contacts in there then that may be your issue. I only have about 400.

Disclosure - this post refers to the functionality of the 330i; not sure if it would be different in the 335.
My RAZR had much better bluetooth functionality than my Pearl. Phonebook, display, etc work fine. The redial, top 8, etc don't come from the lists on the phone, it actually stores only the calls made from the car. My RAZR polled the phone for that info which was more accurate and highly preferred. Personally I think the bluetooth features on the Pearl suck. |

I've been 100% pleased with my blackberry. But I was unintentionally a little misleading earlier - I actually have the Blackberry 8800 Pearl - not the 8100. Sorry - I got confused with the model numbers.
Anyway - the 8800 works flawlessly and I like it MUCH better than the Razr. My wife has a Razr and battery life asbolutely sucks when using bluetooth. With my blackberry I just leave bluetooth turned on all the time and still get 2-3 days of full usage. If she turns on bluetooth her phone dies in a day or less (usually less). And it's not as convenient if you have to remember to turn BT on and off all the time. |

No issues at all with the 8100. Everything transfers; works like a charm. I have Progman 25.02

Ok I am in UK and spec's may be different, but i have an 8100 Pearl, and whn I paired up withy my new E93, I got A-E only.
I only have about 200 contacts max so its not a limit issues. The phone is listed with only limited compatibility, but presumably if it starts to transfer some of the address book, then all should transfer. Alex |
