Interested in 335i XDrive but...

I went from a 3-series Bimmer to a brand new 2008 Altima 3.5SE fully loaded back in 2008. I have loved the Altima but I miss my BMW . So I have been looking at the new 335xi and was wondering two things.. When is the 2012 coming out and is there a list of what BMW will be adding to it? Also, and very important, are there any plans to put a rear-view camera on this car?

I know it sounds stupid but I have gotten so used to this rear-view cam that it is seriously causing me to think twice about getting the car. I LOVE the way my BMW rode and felt, but living in the city and having that feature on my Altima, has spoiled me. I know I'll probably get flammed for that haha, but it's kind of a deal breaker..

Do they only offer this on the 5-series? The bottom of the line 5-series is less money than the 335xi I was looking at so I'm not really sure why they don't offer this at all. Any insight would be helpful, I would very much like to come back to the BMW side .

Thanks in advance!

The rear parking sensors work great. Never had an issue. I had a camera on my previous car and although it was great, I find the sensors are more than adequate. When I drive a car without any rear sensors now, I find it annoying LOL

You're gonna get flammed big time.

Cameras are nice, I personally like to keep my car free from as much stuff like that as possible (can I disable my hill holder?), but I'd bet you'll see them in 2012.

Haha, ok good, I'm not alone. I have seen the video of the sensors but it's no camera haha.

So you think they'll be in 2012.. that's good. Maybe I will wait. I'm looking at the 335i xDrive 6MT, do you know when this will be out on the 2012 model? I'm also looking at the A5 so if anyone has experience with both, please let me know. The only thing I don't like about the A5 is the fact that it is a coupe. I am 6'4" so I'm a big guy.. I can't have a car that is essentially a 2-seater when I sit in it.

The E90 should be ending production in 11/2011. So I am guessing that the F30 will start production a few months after the E90 production. I am sure that the rear view camera will be available on the F30, since it is such a popular feature in cars nowadays.

2008 Altima is a nice car and would probably run until 2020 without any repairs, why get a new car?

Because I miss my BMW .. The Altima drives nice and is very quick and comfortable, however the driving of a Bimmer is so nice. Maybe I will wait for the 2012.

I can't believe you're speaking so highly of an Altima. Had one as a rental car and it was rubbish.

As for the rear camera, there are 2 good products out there that integrate with the PDC sensors. 1 camera integrates with the license plate light, the other camera integrates with the trunk opening mechanism.

Both devices can also enable a front viewing camera, and add the ability to play DVDs while driving (I really don't know why, doesn't everyone have an iPhone already?).

They're like $500, and easy enough for most people to install themselves for a few hours work.

And why would you go bottom of the line? You don't give the impression of being a bottom of the line type of person.

You'll never be upset buying exactly what you want.

I don't feel this way at all. I like all the tech we get on our BMWs. Although I should say I don't have idrive, adaptive cc, pdc or any of the tech really haha. Plus when it gets cold my hill holder brake and dct get disabled, which is not reallly that great.
