I have an 05 e90 and i have the pro-kit with es suspension but its no where low enough so im going to get H&R race springs.

i believe my shocks wont last long so what should i replace them with?
something softish would be nice as i dont want a broken back!!

is there any other options i should look at?

Koni Yellows would be my 1st choice.

Bilstein H8 worth a look too.

I'd say Bilstein B8. Never heard a bad word about their dampers.

1/8 turn away from full soft is great - comparable to bespoke e9x kits out there that cost 3x the amount.

Some benchtesting out there shows that at this setting, they are significantly more compliant then any of the aftermarket Bilstein offerings.

I've never even really looked at adjustable dampers - is it just a case of set and forget?

Just had a look at these, and they look good value. Should be pretty well matched dampers to go with the same springs you're already interested in.

Koni also do a matched suspension kit, not sure what the drop is with that one though.

You can really do what you like. Set & forget if you want to have an initial tweak-fest when you put them in, or alternatively make a note of the amount of clicks (from full-hard!) to use on specific applications.

I had a set of single-way Nitrons on my Elise for most of a decade and never changed them once i'd got used to the settings.
