HELP: Strange bahavior by 2011 335i RWD Auto Trans
Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum, but I don't know if anyone experiece this type of a problem on their vehicle. My car is about 3 month old and has 1500 miles on it so far. I notice two strange behaviors: 1. When i come to full stop not hard, but slowly, sometimes the entire car shakes forward and backwards very very slowly for few sections OR same thing hapens when i am trying to realease break pedal slowly, also car shakes slowly, but not engine shake. Engine shake is different. 2. When car is in parked position, I increase RPM to 3000 and then take my foot off the padal. OnceRPM descrease on it's own, around 1800 RPM strange noise happens from the back of my exhause system. Sounds almost like gentle gun shot, but not very lound. I am able to hear it in the cabin with all the doors and windows closed. This also doesn't happen all the time. I use only Sunoco 93 gas from the same gas station since I bought the car, I will try to get gas from other place to see if problem will go away. But at this point i am really confused, what could be the problem. I had 328i before and described above never happend Does anyone know what could be a problem and should I take this car to dealership? Last edited by boris4098tnt; 03-18-2011 at 04:54 PM.. |

i dont know if its shaking but i know when i come to stoips it feels like its a bit sticky in terms of breaking. I learned to live with it, also #2 sounds like backfiring to me, which is awesome

I read that three times and I have absolutely no clue what you are saying. Is English your native language?

But how can it be a backfire? usually if you have backfire then car wouldn't be this fast, but car goes to 120mph really fast.
gosh this turbo is really messed up. I had Audi a4 2.0T before, so many problems I had cause of Turbo. |

What has the backfire to do with going fast? If your car is in park or neutral and you start to rev the engine , its normal that your hear some exhaust pops when the rpms drop . Nothing to worry about. Get yourself a catless exhaust and enjoy them even more

2. if you notice, if you rev your engine it will drop ever so slightly if you keep it revved. 335's (pop) backfire or burble with stock exhausts, it happens more often when the exhaust flap is open. i sorta like it. it can happen when parked, but also happens when you decelerate. |

Break Pedal is fine. This is really hard to describe:
Basically, when you stop hard, you do not notice anything, however when you stop in traffic or on the stop sign gently, sometimes, car starts to give you feeling of like something else behind the scene is trying to apply break and release break and release. This cause car to move gently forward, like someone is pushing car from behind and then stops then again. It does not happen every time, it happens every other time. However, I did change tires. I had M package with 18 inch wheels, so I changed my RTF tires for regular tires, but rims are the same. About the second issue, pop in exhause system, if you guys think it's fine then i guess it's fine. It's just 328i never did that, and I had audi a4 which was turbo, also never did that, so it was kind of strange to hear that happen. |

So basically you saying, exhause is fine? it's the way it suppose to be?
I didn't try on DS or Manual Mode yet. Car has only 1450 miles on it. But, I can imagine what it might be capable of doing . |
