Is my clutch on the way out..

on my 330d? yesterday, I noticed my car made a funny noise when the clutch was being pressed half way down. It's fine when it's fully pressed. How can I tell if the clutch is going? The gear changes seem fine though. The noise is more like a louder vibration from the engine, than a mechanical crunch of sorts. Help!

Possibly thrust bearing starting to wear, nothing to worry about for the moment but it might be good to start phoning around to get some prices for a replacement.

Sounds more like the "donut" bearing (as above). You'll get a rumble more and more as it goes...

If it was the clutch then you'd have slip in higher gears (Car will rev up higher than it should but then recover and accelerate normally)
