You're asking how to code or if it's possible to code it?

I'm positive there is some way to do this. I have no idea how, but it may not even be done via coding. I believe some kind of bypass resister or something similar is required.

It's completely software-based method and we already know how to do it ourselves.

onebadmofo...is the software solution ("software-based method") available to all models...or limited to new ones; for example CCC versus CIC.

I have a 2007 with CCC iDrive...do you know if it is possible on this model?

Thanks.

It's software for ALL models. The CCC is actually MUCH easier than the CIC.

e90TiAg335i - thanks for the reply. So to be clear (I am still new to this and learning) there is a video in motion setting [iPod/iPhone, DVD slot, etc] that can be coded for the CCC factory Nav?

Where can one get instructions or information for this? I am not doing any coding myself, but am working with a local motorsport shop using the AutoLogic system.

I have searched and searched, but the only thing I have come up with the the Denison AVR unit (combined with the Denison Gateway 500 module) for Euro vehicles.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that the CCC iDrive doesn't play DVD video at all. All the video in motion coding does on the CCC is allow you to play video from an external video source (via the BMW video module, or the ACM) while the car is in motion.

Changing that settings doesn't automatically turn the CCC iDrive into a DVD Player, it simply lacks the software and the computing power to decode DVD video on the fly.

No it can't be. CCC isn't capable of playing DVD's at all. It's not software but hardware limitation. It's like trying to play DVD in a Walkman, it's just not happening. Only CIC (2009+) can play DVD's.
However I think you can have video input on CCC with some sort of module but I'm not sure.

There's the accessory control menu module you can use to add various aftermarket devices to use the iDrive screen.

this is already done long time back ,, the only problem is that whoever was involved in achieving this job for free , he is already banned in this forum ,,so looks like the admins are trying to support their sponsors .. maybe it's right step or maybe wrong ..

but yes it's possible for sure ,, and since i'm an old good member here ,, i will have to follow the forum rules ,,

if you are willing to pay for someone to do it for you , then you have bmwretrofit.com and PatryK ... both will be happy to have this done for you ..
