iDrive Music Failure
I drive a 2011 E90 335i. It has iDrive, and I have ~300 songs loaded onto the internal hard drive. The car was built in July 2010, so it doesn't have the newest iDrive system (which I believe started in September 2010). Today, while driving, one song finished and it simply stopped playing music. I can't get it to play any music off the hard drive anymore. My car is not yet six months old, so I'm very disappointed in BMW for this issue.
Details: - The satellite radio still works fine (I didn't try AM/FM) - The navigation maps still work (so the hard drive isn't broken, right?) - Turning the sound system off, then on doesn't fix it - Turning the car off, then on doesn't fix it (I removed the key, too) - I can scroll through my music but selecting a song doesn't make it play - When I select a song it gets "check" marked like it should - When I select a song the progress bar doesn't move - Doing a music search/filter doesn't search correctly - The songs were imported via USB Maybe unrelated, maybe useful details: - This morning I had to click the heated seat button twice because it didn't register my click the first time - Over the past two weeks the car has been driven in temperatures as cold as 0 F It is a two hour drive to my BMW dealership, so I would like to see if I can find an easy fix first before bringing it to them. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks! |
