Alloy Wheel Refurbishment - Gloucestershire
Right long story short, I've got two damaged 19" 313m alloys.
Does anyone have anyone they could recommend to refurbish my alloys in the Cheltenham / Gloucestershire area? Hoping that someone may have used a reputable company in this area that they had no problems using. Any helpful comments are always greatly appreciated. |

This company comes very highly recommended. They dip the wheels in acid the re-spray which is a lot better than a smart repair. About an hour away from you. |

I have had both my rear 313's refurbed by Lepsons in Swindon.
They have to send them away to their head office in Gillingham as they don't have the equipment to refurb diamond cut wheels in their Swindon branch. That means it takes a good week to get them back. And be aware - these wheels are not easy to refurb like painted wheels. They did a good job, but they are not the same afterwards |

You can ask but I doubt it. I had my M3 wheels done here - they did that on site but it still took 3 days. I would imagine they have to let the paint dry overnight, then the same for the lacquer.......

Its only a couple of mm surface scratches from a kerb and not like a huge dent etc. Anyone know whether they can supply a spare set of alloys so i can continue to use the car? |

Its hard to explain exactly, but because these wheels are not painted, they have to physically remove metal by machining to resurface the wheel. This means that the wheels will only be able to be refurb'ed a few times in their lifetime. Some of the edges where the spokes meet the rim loose that 'sharp' edge the originals have.
Overall, I would have it done again because the refurb'ed rim is 100% better than a damaged one, but a keen eye will be able to tell a refurb'ed wheel from an original. So whilst I'd recommend it - don't expect it to look EXACTLY like new when you get it back, that's all I'm saying. They couldn't lend me any rims, I had to leave the car with them whilst I went on holiday. |

Just spoke to them. £95+VAT / Wheel if you are without a car for 1 week.
Ouch! That goes up to £100+VAT / Wheel if you need a loan car for the duration of the work. Turnaround time approx 3 days. They also cant provide a loan set of alloys, which seems a bit stupid to me! £240 for two wheels with scratches on them. I think i may have to just grin and bear it for the moment. Thanks anyway guys. |

Indeed, and new 313 19" wheels are going for £299 each on ebay at the moment. So nearly 50% of that each to get them refurbed is a lot.
