New member! 2009 e92 need some mods

Hi! I just picked up an 09 e92. I want to do some mods...

I'm looking into replacing the wheels with replica M3 rims. They come in 18" and 19". What size should I get? and they come in the regular gunmetal and black. The car is silver, I dont know whether gunmetal or black would look better. What do u guys think?

Also considering replacing the interior trim with CF

Let me know what you think

18" wheels would allow you to retain your current tires and save $, but if they need to be replaced soon you could go either way. Ride comfort with 19's may be an issue.

You need a Front Aero Lip and M3 or Performance Tail spoiler on that thing as well. CF trim would look good in that color interior. CF is getting a bit out of date, so you may want to look into Piano Black trim instead.

Otherwise, nice ride and enjoy!

Thanks!

The current rims are the stock 17's. What do u mean by ride comfort?

Looks really good.. congratulations and welcome!

The gunmetal M3 18's are nice, haven't seen them on too many silver E92's, you could even go with an H&R Sport or Eibach Pro spring kit to lower the height a bit so it sits a bit more aggressively on the wheels without sacrificing too much ride quality/comfort, which is basically how harsh your ride is, since you were asking lol.

19" wheels have much lower sidewalls thsn 17 or 18" wheels. That coupled with run flat tires and their inherent hard ride can make for a much less comfortable ride that whst you have now.

Thanks guys

I think i will go with the 18's. One inch wouldn't make a big difference. Should I do gunmetal or black?

Would 19's look right on a 328?

Of course they would :P. I run 19s on my 325 and they look awesome. Since you're in the warm south, go for 19s w/ some good summer tires.

How is your ride quality? Other members said that might be an issue. If not, I would definatly go for the 19's.

Perfectly fine as long as there aren't a million potholes on the road, but potholes sound and feel nasty in almost every BMW I've driven in. There really is no difference between 19s and 18s in good road conditions. Now, if we're talking going from 17" wheels + OEM Run flats to 19" wheels + summer tires, then the ride is much better on the 19s.

Sounds good! As far as tires go...

The wheels I want to buy come with Achilles tires. Never heard of this brand, but if they are brand new tires its not a bad risk right?
