OEM wheel swaps. Reuse TPMS?

I'm thinking about getting some OEM Style 189 to replace my OEM Style 159. Is it possible to reuse the TPMS from these?

Yes it is, direct swap. Just make sure you do a reset after you put the wheels on your car.

You can also re-use your lugs and hubs. I do that every year when I put the 230s back on my car.

So it doesn't matter if my OEMs have the soft valve stem vs. the solid valve stems these 189s would of had?

If you have the "Soft" rubber valve stem (usually black rubber, stock TPMS has silver metal stem), that probably is not the TPMS, I am guessing you have an early 07, which do not actually have a sensor int he wheel itself, and it uses rolling diameter to determine tire pressure? in that case, all you needed to do is to reset it from the dashboard and you are good.

as long as the Hz frequency is the same, you can reuse them.

The year of the TPMS matters. The TPMS on my winter tires with TPMS from '08 does not work in my '11. Do a search to confirm the year (or somebody will correct me here), but I am pretty sure they changed them in '10. But definitely, if your new 189s are from an '11, they won't work in your '07.
