Suggestions for light wheels

I still want them to look nice, and be cheap, I currently have bbs lm reps and they're heavy,

So any suggestions on light rims that look nice?

OZ, Enkei or Forgestar are good options and won't break the bank.

I have Enkei RPF1 for my winter tires. I may run R-Comps on them during track days.

My summer wheels are Advan RS. They're a bit more expensive, but VERY light!

Usually light=expensive, especially with the BMW bolt pattern. OZ Ultraleggera, Allegerita (sp?) and Enkei PF01 and RPF1 are probably your cheapest options. Tire Rack sells them all.

You may want to check out the Forgestar F14 18" Flow Form wheels. Flow form casting is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During flow forming, the rim actually "flows" down to create the full rim width. During flow forming, pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel. I'll shoot you over a PM with more details! In the meantime, you can check out some pics below of this great looking wheel below!

Damn that car looks great. Exactly the lip I want too...

Forgestar wheels are a bit more expensive than I thought though.

You might want to take a look at some of our ADV.1 lineup. We can typically go bigger, wider, and lighter on any of our 3-piece or 1-piece wheels.

We are also releasing our Trak Function wheels this month as well that can offer competitive pricing, a 3 piece build, and an awesome lip.

Cheap, light, and strong. You only get to pick 2 -- there are always trade offs with wheels.

PM pricing for:
ADV5.0.TS
18x8.5 front and 18x8.5 rear (et32 offset)
Satin black finish (to match the black window trim - not shadowline)

I am VERY interested in how much these wheels weigh. I would also be interested in the weight savings options. Not sure if it'll be worth it for the 18" wheels. I'm sure all the major weight savings come with the 20"+ wheels.
Please, make sure you give me an estimate on weights, it's that important to me.
TY!

You both have got PM's.

I wanted to post the TrakFunction weight's here as well...

18X11R is 19lbs (17lbs with race prep)
19X11R is 21lbs (19lbs with race prep)
20X11R is 22lbs (19lbs with race prep)

Hope this helps!!!

Something like this would be in the very low 20lb range or even lower with titanium hardware and pocket cuts.

If you need more information let me know.

To paraphrase a popular quote for use in this context:

nice, cheap, light. Pick any two.

Our new TRAKFunctions aren't crazy expensive. They compete directly with any other 3-piece custom wheel manufacture's price point.

CCW are forged 1-piece wheels, the ADV are 3-piece, so no, they do not compete on pricing, but the ADV do compete with other 3-piece wheels for sure.
For the weight of the ADV wheels, they are priced VERY competitively. Especially when comparing the weight vs. HRE (quite a bit heavier).

I sent you a PM with info about the Alufelgen Diamond Cut SF-71's. They are the lightest cast wheels, the fronts being only ~22.0lbs. That's as close to forged weight as you can get without spending too much.

You're an idiot. CCW makes 3-piece wheels and they are very light, strong, and reasonably priced. An 18x12 CCW classic weighs 21.6lbs and is $575-625/wheel.
