BMW Style 157 "lightweight"?

I was thinking about upgrading the OEM Style 157 wheels to something more lightweight. From what I can see online one source has them listed as being 18.7lbs which is pretty light already, but another source has them at 22.8lbs.

I'm dumping the runflats and saving 6lbs per corner and wanted to drop some weight on the wheels as well.

Does anyone know what the stock wheels really weight?

You may also want to check the weight savings you expect on non-RFT vs RFT. I was just reading another post where someone had done research on Tire Rack and cited weight savings of 1 lb per front and 2 lbs per rear tire....

Thanks. That was the source I used as well. If it's accurate that's very light. Maybe someone can confirm this?

I have these rims as winters paired with Blizzaks RFT. Before I mounted the wheel on tires they are indeed lightweight

Once spring comes I will weigh the tire/wheel combo

Mr adobo- can you confirm or deny?

I'm not crazy about the way 157s look on my e36 sedan, and my e93 is otherwise all set on style 197s. I'm considering parting with my 157s, but if they are as light as discussed, I may reconsider. May post them later either way.

they actually are that light, as they are the only forged rim in the e9x series. i changed both winter and summer sets and comparing with style 194, the car feels a lot more agile.

Old thread but since it's bumped... Very cool OE forged wheels made by Fuchs. They only weigh 9.15kg or 20.2lbs according to the manufacturer: https://www.fuchsfelge.com/en/wheel-...wheel-300.html

Too bad the design isn't to my taste...
