I don't know why I read that whole thread lol. But I think it depends on it the battery will hold a charge. I have no doubt that the rest of the car will hole up fine. But if everything else runs perfect and it won't start the second time he gets in, he loses. Im curious to find out what happens. The second post on that site said that they challenged BMW to make a decent car for once. That's like me saying that I challenge Honda to make a decent car. He was clearly one who was very loyal to his brand and thinks the rest is garbage. But I will say that the challenges seem interesting. It would be a shame to destroy an e36 with only 70k miles though.

Yeah. My brother has a SI and loves it. We have our my ride vs his debates. Lol. The SI is fun to drive because if that high revving vtec. But it doesn't compare to any level BMW.

Theres no way that a gas engine should run if gas has been sitting in it for seven years. That should be nothing but a gummy system. If it runs I will be impressed though. Gl

The e36 is easily one of the worst BMWs ever made, but I think it could do it. It's still a relatively modern car, and 1000 miles really isn't a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.
Edit: I agree with tmo24, I think the battery could be the real deal breaker here given the way they have the bet set up. LOL that the e36 owner thinks the battery was "precision engineered by BMW." Does he really think BMW is in the business of manufacturing batteries?
