Headlamp Washer Help
It got really cold here (-40 degrees celcius) last month and my headlamp washers stopped coming out and spraying the headlights. I havent seen them since and now that the roads are a mess my headlights get dirty really easy..... windsheild washers still work though.
Contacted BMW about whats going on and they will need to diagnose which is pretty much an open ended ticket for them. On top of that the new car warranty just lapsed so the work MIGHT be covered under warranty Id rather do the work myself. Does anyone have any experience with this? Where do I start? Ive read some posts about disabling the headlamp washers by removing the fuse so I think I will start there. Like i said, if anyone can let me know their experience with this it might save me a couple hundred bucks. Thanks |

I had the first *really* cold weather experience of my life last month (-31F...northern Quebec) and I felt damn lucky when the car simply *started*.I guess you Canadians are more accustomed to this stuff than we are but at -40C (which,IIRC,is about -40F) you shouldn't be surprised when systems that involve fluids don't work well.

had the exact same issue with the wifes MB SLK last year. Its because they have frozen closed, you'll have to wait until the temp warm up and they will start working again...or if its above freezing now, try to lift the washer door up manually, may just be sticking due to dirt/salt.
