mandatory software upgrade on 07 335i N54
Hey everyone.
I had to go to the dealer for a leaking oil. i was told that when my vehicle comes in for service i need to get the mandatory software upgrade on my engine, there is no exception. the SA told me that it will actually make my engine run better. so thats that, i will get the car tomorrow... my question is, for those of you who had to get that upgrade, how was the power of the engine after that? was it affected in anyway? I hope that i dont lose power... want to hear some feedback from their experiences... much appreciation for your sharing! |

Don't worry OP. You won't notice a thing. Mine has been updated once already, and I believe it needs to be updated again because of the recent official recall notice.

I think my car got a software update when i had my pump replaced monday.
The dash display font appears different and my car sounds a lot louder, it certainly baffles a lot more upon releasing the accelerator. Not sure if it's slower/faster, but it definitely doesn't feel the same. |

The only thing I've noticed is my exhaust is a bit quieter now.
The jury is still out regarding gas mileage (I've seen other people comment on lack of or an increase). I filled up at an Exxon after my s/w upgrade and could definitely tell a difference in consumption (not good). I'll check again when I go back to Shell and fill up.

Had the s/w install a couple days ago. Apparently that is all that was required for my build date. Car was a little shy when it first came out of the shop but after driving around a bit it rediscovered it's muscle and is same as it was before. No real changes, no placebo effect, nothing. Very boring update except maybe I don't have to worry about the HPFP dying on me at some especially inopportune moment.

I got my HPFP recall and software upgrade about two weeks ago, and the tranny is definitely smoother. I used to get this annoying "bump," almost like if you popped the clutch in a manual, when slowing down then accelerating (eg. coasting through a stop). The bump is gone, and you can feel the transmission slipping to absorb the bump and smooth out the acceleration. DS mode still has the bump.

I got 35000 miles on my 07 335i e92 and every time I take my car to the dealer for oil change they alway tell me the same shit!!, the I need a software update and I show my letter from BMW that stated "don't F#$%ck With this Mother F#%%cked car" because he already cost to much money on freebie when we try to upgrade his software and we have to send a master tech from Germany to down grade the software from 35.1 to 32.1, my car have the original fuel pump build dated was sept 07, when they updated the software they add a 3 millisecond delay to the gas pedal and that why I went to war again BMW. because that fucking updated change the reason why i got the 335I.

Anyone experienced the same problem before? |
